A Trip to the Emergency Room
Social Skills Story about being treated in an Emergency Room
Children with autism or other communication disorders need help to understand their world around them. Social skills stories are a fantastic way to relay this information. Presenting a social skills story to a child before, during, and even after the event has occurred will give your child a better understanding of what is happening and reassure them, when necessary, that everything is going to be fine.
Synopsis: This book will walk your child through some common childhood ER visits. (i.e. fever, cut, sprain, x-rays, stitches, ambulance, etc.) Help them understand that the paramedics, doctors, and nurses are there to help. This is a great book that can help increase your child's understanding of what is happening in an emergency situation.
