You can use this Keyring Activity with younger children in two ways:
1) Use during a play activity to demonstrate and promote imitation of the activity; or
2) Use during a real cleaning session in the home to show and educate your child about this life skill.
You can use this activity with older children by:
1) Using as a 'chore' keyring. Of course you just remove any symbols that will not pertain during the event.
There are 24 symbols in all and are a larger 2 1/2 inch x 2 1/2 inch size and printed in color on 110lb cardstock and commercially heat laminated with 5 mil plastic. Each symbol is hole-punched in the corner, and placed on a silver, binder-ring style key ring. You can open the keyring and remove any symbols you don't want or need, and rearrange them in any order.
The front and main card is called the 'indicator' card. This card is displayed and lets your child know what activity is about to take place. You can use the 'chore' cards to show and tell them what cleaning activities you are involved in to help them process these important life skills.
